The Costa Rican Soccer Federation (Fedefutbol) will receive $750,000 (¢384.7 million) for participating in the first phase of the 2011 Copa America Championship in Argentina.
The financial amount was confirmed by the South American Soccer Confederation (CONMEBOL) in an email sent to a query.
“Costa Rica will get paid $750,000 for the first phase,” confirmed the organization from its headquarters in Asuncion, Paraguay. These are the three games in Group A against Colombia (0-1), Bolivia (2-0) and Argentina (in Cordoba tomorrow).
“If CR move then naturally will charge more, an additional survey, because that amount is increasing for each phase,” said the Conmebol in its response.
In the brief statement the entity did not specify how much the Tricolor will receive if tomorrow move ahead to the second round of the quarterfinals and then to the decisive stages of the contest (semifinals, third or final).
CONMEBOL confirmed in the report that will be given prizes for the top four places in this Cup tournament. The champion will receive $ 2.7 million (¢ 1.385 million).
The sub-champion will be recognize with $ 1.8 million (¢ 923 million), while third place will receive $ 1.5 million (¢ 769 million) and fourth place will pocket $ 1 million ($ 513 million).
