Turrialba Volcano Comes to Life Again


The Turrialba volcano again showed intense activity in recent hours, following a period of relative calm.

The National Seismological Network reported on reports from neighbors, who say they see two vigorous gas plumes to the north and another to the northeast,with a mile of average height.

These gases, which leave the top of Turrialba, are 90% water vapor.

The National Seismological Network will conduct a flyover in the coming hours, and Thursday, the experts will visit the summit of the volcano, for a temperature measurement.
