Reports by regular Costa Ricans are part of the reason why the Fiscal Control Police has been more successful in their confiscations during the first months of the year.
This was acknowledged by the director of this entity of the Ministry of Finance, Luis Alonso Bonilla, who said the anonymous tips by people increased significantly.
The tips by Costa Ricans allowed Fiscal Control Police to seize 755 appliances and a stolen truck. An anonymous caller warned that in Alajuelita they were unloading the goods from a container.
The authorities have also seized 17 thousand phones, 3 000 650 units of clothing, personal items and medicines.
Also 5 000 500 units of products of Victoria Secret, 2 kilos of onions and 300 tons of scrap metal.
