Over 600 physicians are performing administrative tasks in CCSS

In the pneumology department of the Hospital Calderon Guardia, a general practitioner works as an administrative assistant with a monthly salary of ¢ 1.8 million.

In the Hospital of San Ramon, Alajuela, two general practitioners are “support”to the Department administrative center.

For cases such as these is that the Social Security Fund (CCSS) is evaluating the profile of at least 420 of the 632 administrative posts occupied by the medical institution.

This is almost 10% of the 5,500 doctors of the institution.

Of the 420 seats, 368 are occupied by specialists, while in the other 52 there aregeneral practitioners.
