A protest by a collection of some of the country’s largest unions, will meet on Tuesday, June 26 to discuss a strike against political corruption, the fiscal problem and other issues.

This was announced by representatives of groups of the education, healthcare and telecommunications unions in press conferences during the morning.

The secretary general of the National Union of Employees of the Fund (undeca), Luis Chavarria, explained that each sector will highlight the issue that it considers more urgent.

However, said the most important issue is the lack of transparency in the state and the wrong use of public resources.

“We are in a crisis by political corruption, a plunder of public institutions has affected entities through cuts and other measures that will deepen, as announced by the government,” said Chavarria.

The president of the Association of Teachers of Secondary Education (APSE), Beatriz Ferreto, agreed with the concerns of Chavarria, and she also said there are other issues.

“We will defend social security, we will demonstrate against the monopoly muellero and as a fundamental point, we will demand punishment for the corrupt. No more impunity with the trail (road 1856), “said Ferreto.

Also joining the protest will be the Internal Front of Workers, the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (FIT). This union will be opposed to the Contingency Bill Power, and complaints to the Telecommunications Authority, accusing it of “weakening” the ICE.
