India, Brazil and Russia Interested in Costa Rica Tourism

This Thursday details were released of the tourism marketing numbers as compiled by Expotur 2012, which will be developed in Costa Rica from 9 to 11 May. For this edition there was an 40% increase in the number of buyers.

For the organizers, the initiative is a platform for negotiations to promote Costa Rica as the ideal destination in the market for conferences and meetings.

The Association of Tourism Professionals (ACOPROT) ensures that the increase in this year resulting in 62 international travel wholesalers. With respect to 2011, 220 companies came to the country to negotiate with hosting companies, tour operators, car rental, airlines and travel agencies to sell the Costa Rican destination to the world and generate more visitors.

The president of ACOPROT, Yadyra Simon said, will engage emerging markets like India, Brazil and Russia.

Simon said that Russia became one of the most requested by the sector due to the high purchasing power of tourists, their strong willingness to travel.

In total 37 nations will be present during the event and EXPOTUR has received over 6 000 requests for quotes from vendors for foreign visitors and domestic buyers.
