Fuel Costs Set to Rise Again

The Costa Rican Oil Refinery (Recope) submitted to the Regulatory Authority of Public Services (Aresep) an application for rising fuel costs by 9¢ per liter.

According to the information presented, the refinery wants to improve their finances, storage and distribution costs, in order not to close in the red this year.

The application was filed under study by the Aresep. If approved the increase in combustile will be given the necessary formalities and would take effect in late March or April.

The Regulation Committee evaluates Aresep increase 29 ¢ a liter of super gasoline, ¢ 27 in the plus and ¢ 11 for the diesel. These increases are to be approved and enter into force in March.
