Costa Rica hotel occupancy during the Easter holidays in the beaches and mountains of Costa Rica reached 85% according to a survey by the Costa Rican Chamber of Hotels.
The level is 10 points higher than in the Holy Week of 2011 for these sectors.
The Northern Plains region, the Caribbean, South Pacific and Puntarenas, were the most visited regions of the country, all with 88% of rooms occupied.
According to the Chamber, this Easter was presented a particular phenomenon, as the mountain hotels had more clients than the beach hotels.
Only businesses located in the Central Valley had a decrease in room rentals.
Hotels reported little Costa Rican tourist arrivals, since on average only 32% of visitors were Ticos.
