Last year the Children’s Hospital attended seven cases of childhood aggression shown by month. This number dropped to 5.8 during the first quarter of 2012.
For this reason the hospital authorities said that it is necessary to do more to combat this problem.
At this time, for example, an 18-month-old remains in the intermediate care unit after being the victim of aggression.
There is a campaign supported by the Banco de Costa Rica, the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity and private enterprise, but is aware that the campaign to be effective it is necessary to involve other stakeholders to achieve real change.
