Better Late Than Never – 4G Coming to Costa Rica

With telephone competition heating up in the country, the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) plans to get ahead of the competition by launching the new fourth-generation cellular network (4G).

The arrival of this platform is expected later this year or early 2013. The benefits of this platform is the speed of the internet.

Current lines allow downloads of 14 megabytes per second, but with a 4G network you could be downloading over 100 megabytes per second.

Countries such as Honduras and Guatemala already have this technology.
