“Vamos a turistear ” is the name of the strategy that the National Institute of Tourism (ICT) launched this morning that is oriented to tourists in Costa Rica.
The objective is to promote the internal tourism by vacationers with discounts of up to 35% in low season (May, June, September and October) and up to 15% in high season (December to March, July and August).
Gustavo Araya, president of the Costa Rican Chamber of Hotels (CCH), said that prices are charged in colones. Businesses that have different rates for foreigners and nationals charged from this tariff for locals.
The campaign begins today and ends in December in a first phase, involving little more than 80 hotel owners and tour operators said Ireth Rodriguez, assistant manager and marketing director of the entity. The second stage will come in January, but no other details.
In this first phase, discounts and all the strategy information are available at www.vamosaturistear.com. There, for example, visitors can see the percentages that will save on your vacation if they plan to enjoy the beach, the mountains, at a city hotel or a tour of adventure.
Even if the vacationers not wish to drive to the destination of preference can get a special rate in a transportation service tourists.
“Vamos a turistear ” has an element of competition. The entity and the different participants in this strategy (CCH, Costa Rican Association of Tour Operators and National Chamber of Tourism Rural Community) give available to the Costa Rican 150 awards. Some awards are: one day tours for two people with transportation from San Jose and travel for two and four people including room and board.
One way to win one of these awards will be through the page ” Vamos a turistear” ! in Facebook. Rodriguez explained that visitors can upload a photo somewhere in the country visiting with a comments. Win the one with the most “I like it.” There will be winners every 15 days.
