With the objective of guaranteeing the safety of national and foreign tourists, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) has installed new signs on the beaches deemed “dangerous” for swimmers.
This is the second phase of signaling to inform visitors about the presence of dangerous currents and strong waves. So far they’ve invested 80 million colones.
These signs will be in 17 areas such as Playa Bejuco, Flag beach, Playa Matapalo, Manuel Antonio, Junquillal, Carrillo, Playa Garza and Playa Ostional.
This was explained by Luis Jara, spokesman for the ICT.
In the coming months, we hope to increase the number of officers of the Tourist Police, thanks to a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Public Security.
