150 More Police Cars Donated by China

The government of China donated 150 patrol cars to the security forces and spare parts for 100 units not currently in service.

The delivery was attended by President Laura Chinchilla this Friday morning at the Children’s Museum.

Some 140 units are in the hands of the police, while ten others were still in the customs process.

During her administration Laura Chinchilla Miranda has invested about ¢123.457 million in operating costs and equipment purchases for police forces around the country.

The security forces had 1,547 new jobs by 2012 and this has 800 more seats.

Throughout 2011 they have trained 260 new community security committees, and 297 shops.
